Dogs on the Inside

Synopsis
Dogs On The Inside looks into the transformative relationships between prisoner inmates and abused dogs during an 8 week training program. Built on newfound love and trust, inmates and dogs empathize and heal old wounds. In a landscape where feelings are dangerous and emotional barriers necessary, the love and spirit of the dogs soften prisoners and even quell rival gangs. Despite a well documented history on animal behavior therapy from Sigmund Freud to William Thomas, the film offers a fresh, first hand look into the power of the love and transformation of this wonderful program. The film is highly recommended for Universities - Psychology, Animal Behavior Theory, Socialization, Criminal Justice - as well as Correctional Justice Facilities.
